At the North Carolina Masonry Contractors Association (NCMCA), we believe the best way to learn is on the job. From high school classrooms to real-world jobsites, our members are training the next generation of skilled masons through hands-on apprenticeship programs.

High school students across North Carolina are getting a head start in masonry through our pre-apprenticeship program. Starting at just 16, students can work on job sites during the summer, earning money and high school credit while gaining real-world experience. It’s a chance to see what masonry is really like, build skills, and make connections with local contractors.

Many students return after graduation to join the companies they trained with over the summer, turning early experience into a full-time career. By partnering with schools and investing in young talent, NCMCA is helping ensure the future of masonry in North Carolina—one skilled mason at a time.
