Anderson Pruett of West Rowan High School is the new Secondary State Champion of the 2022 NC SkillsUSA Masonry Competition. The contest was held at the end of April at the Greensboro Coliseum with forty-eight students participating in the Masonry II division. Finishing second through tenth respectively were Nathaniel Myers, North Stanly High School; Annayeli Dionisio and Israel Bugarin, Columbus Career & College Academy; Austin Mullins, Mt. Pleasant High School; Aaron Russel, West Rowan High School; Colby Kirkland, West Stanly High School; Aden Toledo, Jesse Carson High School; Oconner Leonard and Nicholas Sloop both from West Rowan High School. Mason Ridenhour of East Rowan High School finished “First Place” in the Masonry One contest and Cody Landahl of Mt. Pleasant High School won the masonry estimating competition. Pruett will represent North Carolina in the Atlanta National SkillsUSA Masonry Championship in June.
