NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE: It seems a disproportional number of Charlotte area masons, apprentices and masonry students excel in competitions around the state and the country relative to other parts of the world. On Tuesday September 26th, the NCMCA Metrolina Chapter will host those champions and winners along with their families for Metrolina’s Annual Recognition Night dinner. Honorees will include the 2017 SPEC MIX “World’s Best Bricklayer,” the world best mason tender, winners of the May 2017 Samuel A. McGee Apprentice Contest and the “David R. Sigmon Award,” the 2017 high school National SkillsUSA Masonry Champion and others. Meeting time is 6:30 with dinner served at 7:30 at Hickory Tavern located at 9010 Harris Corners Parkway, Charlotte 28269.  NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE.  For details: Chapter President Brandon Hartsell (704) 664-2121 This email address is being protected from spambots. At the Metrolina Chapter's 2016 Recognition Night, Kent Huntley (left) and Huntley Brothers got to take home the "David R. Sigmon" Award perpetual plaque for a year when their apprentice, Luis Marquez, won the 2016 Annual Samuel A. McGee Masonry Apprentice Skills Contest.  With Jamison Huntley's win at the 2017 McGee contest, NCMCA President Bob Gates (right) may be handing the plaque back to Kent to keep for another year.
